Ashlee Simpson has collide with back at negative claims in regards to her weight-gain during her pregnancy.

`100 Things' co-author Dave Freeman dies in LA

LOS ANGELES �

Dave Freeman, coauthor of "C Things to Do Before You Die," a journey guide and ode to odd adventures that divine readers and imitators, died after hitting his headland in a fall at his home. He was 47.

Freeman died Aug. 17 after the fall at his Venice home, his father, Roy Freeman, told the Los Angeles Times on Monday.

An advertising agency executive, Freeman co-wrote the 1999 book subtitled "Travel Events You Just Can't Miss" with Neil Teplica. It was based on the Web site whatsgoingon.com, which the geminate ran together from 1996 to 2001.

"This life is a unforesightful journey," the book says. "How lav you make sure you fill it with the most fun and that you visit all the coolest places on land before you pack those bags for the identical last time?"

Freeman's relatives aforesaid he visited about half the places on his list before he died, and either he or Teplica had been to nearly all of them.

"He didn't have enough days, but he lived them like he should get," Teplica said.

Remy Ma Confident Of Appeal Success

Rapper REMY MA is confident she will non need to serve her eight-year prison house sentence for weapons and assault charges in full - because she is sure she will be vindicated upon appeal.

Smith has since hired cover lawyers William Murphy, Jr., Kenneth Ravenell and Richard Levitt to launch an appeal against the verdict, and is hopeful her legal squad will clear her on all counts.

She says, "With the addition of Mr Murphy, Ravenell, and Levitt, I now consider I have assembled a team that will get the power and expertness to narrate my side of the story.

"I am confident that later hearing everything, my side will rule. Mr Murphy comes highly recommended and I am pleased that he has agreed to lead my defence team."

And Murphy Jr., a senior partner in the Murphy Firm, has as well predicted his client will walk disembarrass following an appeal.

He tells AllHipHop.com, "We are pleased to handle Remy Ma's attract.

"We are confident that when we present all the facts, the world for the first time will arrive a true picture of what actually happened; and Remy will be clear."

Smith is currently helping time at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women in New York as she awaits the appeal.

Fan groped Winehouse's breasts - report

Amy Winehouse allegedly punched a fan who apparently groped her breasts during her Glastonbury performance on Saturday.

The troubled star lashed at a male member of the audience as she stepped down from the stage to get closer to the crowd for her final two songs.

Amy was caught on camera hitting out at the fan several times before security separated the pair.

Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis has defended the Rehab singer's actions, insisting she was only defending herself.

He said: "The fan deserved it. He grabbed Amy's breasts as she went past him."

A spokesman for the Grammy award winner claims the attack was provoked when a fan tried to pull at Amy's famous beehive hairstyle.

He said: "The 'lashing out' was when someone tried to grab her hair and she reacted."

Police have revealed they will not pursuing the incident.

Amy - who was in hospital last week being treated for scarring of the lungs - also commented on Jay-Z's controversial appearance on the Pyramid Stage.

She told the audience: "He has got some front to come here with tunes you don't even remember."

The star also claimed her imprisoned husband Blake Fielder-Civil was being released in two weeks.
She excitedly told the crowd: "My husband is out of jail in two weeks."

Elsewhere at the world famous music event, Neil Diamond treated fans to a set full of his classic tracks including, I'm a Believer - which he penned for The Monkees - and finishing with Sweet Caroline.

One surprise performance saw Lily Allen appear on stage with superstar producer Mark Ronson, another weekend highlight included dance act Hot Chip being joined on stage by Wiley for a rendition of his hit Wearing My Rolex.

Older festival goers were left thrilled by blues legend Buddy Guy, while new pop sensation The Ting Tings attracted younger music fans.

Glastonbury was closed on Sunday night by recently-reformed British rockers The Verve.

N.Y. takes piracy battle underground

Partners with the MPAA for subway ad campaign

NEW YORK -- In the midst of the summer blockbuster season that is upon us, the Motion Picture Association of America and the City of New York have teamed to run an anti-piracy campaign in the city's subways.


Based on the partners' success in anti-piracy efforts last year on bus shelters across the city, they brought back the slogan "Get the Real Picture: Don't Buy Illegal DVDs Off the Street," and will be bringing that underground this year.


The campaign goes a step further with New York City's 311 citizen service hotline that gives people the means to report piracy found on the streets.


The MPAA discovered in a survey conducted last year that the New York City motion picture industry was struck with 22,986 fewer jobs and $903 million in lost earnings due to pirating activity.


In response to current anti-piracy campaigns, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said, "The city's efforts to combat anti-piracy have gone a long way to stamping out pirated DVDs on our city streets, and now we're taking the campaign underground."


Added MPAA chairman and CEO Dan Glickman: "This next phase of the campaign and the mayor's commitment to helping fight piracy in New York are much needed during the summer when so many great movies are being released."


The advertisements criticize the idea of spending hard-earned money on poor-quality and illegal products by depicting mock rating images of "RO" for Ripped-Off, "PS" for Poor Sound, "SP" for Stupid Purchase, "OV" for Obstructed View and "F" for Fake.


The ads should appear in the city's subway system in the coming week.
